The “Nicholsville Rugrats” is a group of men and women who joined together to form a rug hooking group in Nicholsville, Nova Scotia. The group meets every Tuesday morning from 9:30am to 12pm in the Nicholsville Community Hall (located at 413 Victoria Road, Nicholsville, NS) to hook, chat and share ideas on rug hooking.

The group has no annual fees but use a good will donation to pay for hall rental, rug hooking supplies, magazines and books. Over the past years the group has managed to purchase a Bolivar wool cutter, many magazines, books , DVDs, yards of wool and linen for the members. The group has arranged numerous rug hooking courses which covered such topics as shading, dyeing and rug design.

If you would like to learn rug hooking or you're a rug hooker in need of a place to hook come and join us, we’d love to have you, everyone welcome.

The RugRats have introduced several new people to the fine art of Rug Hooking. We have had a two day "Basic Rug Hooking Course". The two day course included handouts, and a take home project with wool and linen. The 1st day covered Tools, Hoops & Frames, Materials, Patterns, Styles and Techniques with plenty of hands on hooking for the participants. Day 2 consisted of: Finishing Rugs, Drawing & Transferring Patterns and Dyeing Wool.
